my 40th performance

I had a great set, and for the first time I made it to the light (4 minutes) without looking at a notecard with the joke names.  This is a huge deal to me and I plan to build on it.  I ignored the insults after my set because it came from the same people who whine about my sets.  Plus they didn't say anything necessarily horrible.  I get it because I'm not a shallow comedian who thinks comedy is just about sex and saying 'fuck' as many times as possible in a comedic set even when it becomes redundant.  I become a target because I'm different.  I take it as a complement that people are talking about me afterwards, it doesn't matter to me if its good or bad.  I did 4 bits the newest one went off really well, I was going to record the set but at the last minute I decided against it because I thought it would be awkward to give somebody my camera right before my set.  When they weren't prepared for it.

I had a pretty good set excluding dropping the f bomb and screwing up new jokes.  I like stubby's the host told everybody I have good material.  I like hosts who are positive.  So please friends if your free on a wed come check me out.

This coming year should be exciting since I have a good foundation when it comes to material unlike last year and I've started to get consistent w/ performances.  Plus I figured out how to memorize my material which is important.  Plus, I have written so much new material.  I'm really excited and I hope I will start to get shows.  World watch out, I'm coming whether people like it or not.  I'm coming whether the secular comedy community welcomes me or insults me.  I've gotten use to the insults from other comics, its funny when people insult you but don't have the decency to talk to you about your material or style or the reasons for how I write comedy.

Ps. practice performances don't count towards the performances because I don't think my friends should get credit for seeing me perform in a place where they feel comfortable, i.e. my church.

15th performance

If you want to call it that... shortest set in history.  I gave up right after I started.  I'm going to do the same set I had for this week and perform it next week.  yep why create a new set when I was confident about the set before I went up.  The problem to me was how few people were in the audience.  I know its an excuse but I have a new bit that's close to a minute long and didn't feel that I would get an accurate picture of how a crowd would react to it by doing it in front of a really small crowd.

I think I have improved I think my material is a lot better than when I started last year. 

I want to thank jack for coming to my second performance on the 16th of December of last year.  I hope more people realize the value of coming and seeing me tell jokes.  I can show jokes to people but that isn't really accountability because I normally change them.  So I hope people come more because I plan to be more consistent this coming year.  Plus it is a way to honor my gift and talent.  Plus it would be helpful to hear opinions from people I trust on things I could improve on, etcetera.

my goal in the coming year is to double or triple my performances.

so I finally got the light, which was a relief.  That means I did over 4 minutes of material.  My set was okay.

The day started out good with the Phillies no hitting the smelly braves.

I don't know the reason but I was so nervous this week, I was even nervous after the set was over which was really weird.  I think, for some reason, I was more nervous this week then when I started in December.

I did the most material during my set, that I have ever done (a full page), everything went good, in two weeks i'm going to do two bits that I did this week but i'm going to do the complete versions of them.  I'm also going to cut the one sentence from the one bit I did (cowboys & Indians), I added it during the week, I think its overkill.  what was the sentence?  you'll never know unless you were at the open mic.

in addition, I'm going to start 'researching' my tech school experiences since I don't have the greatest memory.  I'm going to start sending messages to my friends, so I can build that into my act.  I have two things written so far.  Now that I look back on that period I wish I would have written more stuff down.
